IMMIGRATION

Ryken and Associates specialise in all areas of immigration law. As we also specialise in all aspects of litigation we therefore bring to the practice of immigration law a unique perspective of value to all clients. We are therefore able to anticipate and avoid the need for appeals and to maximise outcomes involved in applications of all types. Further, our in-house collaborative approach means that if a case is being treated unfairly by a decision maker, or not in accordance with policy or our law, we are well-placed to intervene. While our main focus is Investor, Family & Corporate visa applications, we cover all categories. See our Immigration page for further detail.

LITIGATION

In addition to non-immigration litigation we often do cases involving court appearances and defended hearings that have an immigration “crossover”. We have a unique viewpoint in such cases where for example a litigant wants to preserve their future legal right to remain in New Zealand, or where there are ramifications arising out of intended litigation. Our expertise in administrative law and other areas of litigation are key to ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients. We regularly brief specialised barristers including QCs, where a matter requires specialist assistance or where that becomes apparent mid-stream.
Other areas include:
– Adoption (including international)

We also work together with other practitioners in commercial and property work and other areas of legal general practice.
Other areas include:
– Adoption and international/domestic surrogacy
